Event Details
Prior to the 13th amendment, thousands of slaves achieved freedom by escaping to Canada through Detroit, otherwise known as ‘Midnight.’ This important program will detail how freedom seekers were aided by Detroit-based abolitionists who fiercely supported them against the odds of local law enforcement.
